Job description

Northern Skills are recruiting on behalf of UK National Ltd, who are looking for a hardworking, motivated, and enthusiastic candidate to join their team. During this apprenticeship, you will learn the role of a business administrator while gaining a qualification.

Wage

£15,704 for your first year, with potential increases depending on your age.

National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices. Check minimum wage rates (opens in new tab).

Benefits

• 21 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Hours: Monday - Friday, between 8.00am - 4:30pm
• 40 hours a week
• Start date: Monday 7 July 2025

Work

The majority of your apprenticeship will be spent working on the job, gaining hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

• Allocating planned maintenance tasks to engineers according to contractual schedules.
• Ensuring maintenance is carried out on building systems to meet and exceed expectations and service level agreements in accordance with SFG 20 standards.
• Supporting the technical department with basic quotations and procurement of routine goods and services.
• Managing internal and external systems.
• Resolving queries from clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Reviewing job documentation post-completion to ensure client requirements are met and documentation is ready for billing.

Training

The apprenticeship includes time away from work for specialist training, where you'll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

• Developing proficiency in IT packages such as MS Office to communicate, create proposals, process finances, and analyze data.
• Producing accurate records and documents, making improvement recommendations, and reviewing others' work.
• Exercising good judgment, making effective decisions, and dealing with challenges professionally.
• Building positive relationships within your team and across the organization, demonstrating influence and coaching skills.
• Demonstrating excellent communication skills across various platforms and representing the organization effectively.
• Completing tasks to a high standard, continuously improving work, and sharing best practices.
