Job summary

Ordnance Survey (OS) is seeking a Business Administrator to provide technical and administrative support, ensuring data integrity and compliance across systems. You will assist in delivering production plans, supporting service delivery and stakeholder collaboration while helping teams work efficiently in a hybrid environment at OS HQ in Southampton.

This role emphasizes data management, GDPR compliance, and effective communication to enable accurate reporting and informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain data across systems, ensuring accuracy and GDPR compliance.
  • Create, update and maintain records, work requests and supporting documentation.
  • Receive, validate and distribute data to keep records up to date.
  • Monitor and analyse data to support billing, performance reporting and decisions.
  • Research, compile and report information to support requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to meet delivery plan requirements and support pre-employment checks.

Job description

Behind every successful team is great operational support, and we're looking for a Business Administrator to join us and play a vital role in ensuring our teams can work efficiently and effectively., As a Business Administrator, you'll provide technical and administrative support to help teams operate effectively and deliver against business objectives. You'll be responsible for managing and maintaining data and information across a range of systems, supporting service delivery plans, coordinating administrative activities, and ensuring compliance with business processes. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders, you'll ensure processes are followed accurately support operational performance and contribute to the successful delivery of business objectives. What you'll be doing

  • Managing and maintaining data across a range of systems and platforms, ensuring accuracy, quality, GDPR compliance, and adherence to organisational standards
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining records, work requests, and supporting documentation to enable the timely delivery of production plans
  • Receiving, validating, and distributing data and associated information to ensure records remain accurate and up to date
  • Monitoring and analysing data to support billing, performance reporting, and operational decision-making
  • Researching, compiling, and reporting information to support business and operational requirements
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery plan requirements are met, OS conducts pre-employment checks for anyone made an offer of employment, including identity, right to work, employment history and criminal record checks (via Disclosure & Barring Services (DBS).

  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office, Geospatial Management Information Systems)
  • Familiarity with GDPR and other regulatory requirements
