Business Administration Apprenticeship Level 3 (Reception)

We are looking for a motivatedand enthusiastic Business Administration Modern Apprentice to join our friendlyGP practice. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in ahealthcare setting while working towards a nationally recognized qualificationin business administration.

As an apprentice, you willdevelop key administrative skills and provide essential support to the practiceteam, helping to ensure the smooth running of the surgery and excellent patientcare.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and assisting patients at reception
  • Handling phone calls and directing inquiries appropriately
  • Booking, rescheduling, and cancelling patient appointments
  • Maintaining accurate patient records using clinical systems
  • Processing prescriptions and handling patient correspondence
  • Assisting with the management of practice emails and paperwork
  • Supporting the administration of referrals, recall and other documentation
  • Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to GDPR regulations
  • Helping with general office tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry
  • Providing administrative support to the management team

  • Must be eligible to undertake an apprenticeship in the UK
  • Driving licence or working towards one is desirable but not essential (due to location)
  • Appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check

As part of your apprenticeship, at least 6 hours per weekwill be dedicated to off-the-job training. This training may include: - Attending college or online learning sessions related to business administration and clinical coding. - Shadowing experienced staff to develop practical knowledge. - Learning how to use EMIS Web and other NHS systems. - Completing coursework and assessments set by the apprenticeship provider. - Attending workshops on NHS policies, data protection, and patient confidentiality. - Researching best practices for document management and healthcare administration.
