Job description

IQVIAis looking to fill a newly created position due to our customer’s ongoing success. We are seeking an experienced Business Access Manager to cover parts of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, following the recent launch of a highly anticipated monoclonal antibody product in Nephrology Rare Diseases (specifically PNH & aHUS).

Our customer is a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to bringing biosimilar medicines to market, ensuring high-quality biologics are available to more patients at cost-effective prices. Since their launch in 2012, they have developed the industry’s most rapidly advancing biosimilar medicines portfolio and become leaders in this field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Commercial Activities: Manage commercial activities within 30-40 specialist rare disease centres across the UK.
  • Stakeholder Interaction: Engage with hospital stakeholders (clinicians, hospital managers, high-cost drug pharmacists) to promote the uptake of the biosimilar product, delivering cost savings whilst improving patient access and support.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to ensure decision-makers have all necessary information for maximal adoption and prescribing.
  • Market Positioning: Establish the company as a trusted partner in the biosimilars/biologics market.
  • Data Collection: Gather and report relevant information such as competitor data, treatment patterns, and product prescribing criteria.
  • Sales Growth: Ensure the achievement of sales and market share growth.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Educational Background: Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Economics, Life Sciences (e.g., Pharmacy, Biomedical/Paramedical, Medical and Public Health) or equivalent.
  • Professional Qualifications: ABPI qualified.
  • Expertise: Previous experience in nephrology rare diseases is required (experience with PNH, aHUS, or complement inhibitors is particularly valuable).
  • Industry Experience: Prior expertise in the biosimilars or biologics arena preferred.
  • Sales Experience: At least 3-5 years in a UK-based pharmaceutical sales role dealing with specialist customer groups at secondary care level.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and manage strong relationships with both external and internal customers, with a track record of developing impactful business partnerships.
  • Team Player: Strong team player with resilience, leadership qualities, and collaboration skills.
  • Innovative Thinking: Creative, innovative thinker with excellent presentation and influencing skills.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel regularly throughout the territory (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland). Being located centrally or close to the motorway network, a mainline rail station and airport to minimise travel times would be ideal.
  • Driving License: Full UK driving license essential.

Benefits:

  • Compensation: Generous salary and fantastic performance-related bonus.
  • Package: Comprehensive benefits package.

If you are passionate about making a difference in the field of rare diseases and meet the above criteria, we would love to hear from you! The successful candidate will be invited to start work as soon as they are available.
