We currently have multiple positions available for Casual Bus Drivers at our Penrith depot.

Industry leading rates!

• $39.16 per hour Weekday (shift loadings range from 15% - 100% depending on times of operation throughout the shift)
• $54.23 (Sat), $72.31 (Sun), $90.38 (PH)
• $17.92 attendance allowance paid daily

For over 80 years, we’ve delivered a professional, reliable standard of service. We currently operate bus service contracts for Transport for NSW in Western Sydney, North Shore and West, Central Coast and North Coast, and the South Australian Public Transport Authority in Adelaide’s Outer South.

With a team of more than 2,800 people, committed to transporting over 53.7 million passenger journeys each year, we pride ourselves on taking a proactive approach to public transport delivery to ensure that the customer journey is as seamless as possible.

Hours of work

Our drivers must be willing and flexible to work various shifts, including weekends, early mornings, and late nights.

A large portion of shifts available for full-time drivers are split shifts, covering peak service times morning and afternoon. The hours for each shift can vary but generally include:

• Morning: 6:00 am to 10:00 am
• Afternoon: 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Outside these hours, you can leave the depot to head home or run errands, or stay at the depot and use our driver facilities.

There are also straight shifts available at varied times of the day, from morning, afternoon, or evenings.

All depots operate seven days a week, with Sunday and public holiday shifts being voluntary overtime.

Eligibility to apply

• A current and valid Medium Rigid or above driver’s license
• A good driving history
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check, criminal history check, and working with children check
• Having a current NSW Driver Authority is highly desired (or be willing to obtain one)

Suitable applicants without the required license and Authority may be offered:

• Paid induction and mentor training
• Attend a Driver Authority Course with Busways and assist with the application process
