  • Valid CPC qualification card with up-to-date training is necessary.

Job description

Bus Driver (Term-Time)

Department: PCV (Bus) Driver

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Milton Keynes

Reporting To: Transport Manager

Compensation: £14.50 / hour


Description

Our PCV Drivers are responsible for providing a professional driving service that supports our clients and service users. In addition to ensuring a safe home-to-school transport operation, you may also operate the passenger lift and assist the Passenger Assistant with service users as required.


Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the vehicle safely, adhering to local road restrictions and speed limits. Report any fines or tickets to the office promptly.
  • Perform mandatory vehicle checks before each use, reporting any defects.
  • Secure all passengers and wheelchair users correctly using necessary safety equipment.
  • Ensure the vehicle has adequate fuel for journeys, refueling as instructed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle inside and out on a weekly basis.
  • Remove and replace seating as needed.
  • Park the vehicle correctly in designated bays at the depot.
  • Operate the passenger lift and other assistive equipment safely.
  • Communicate patiently and informatively with passengers and clients.
  • Assist the Passenger Assistant with their duties as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Understanding of working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Patience and level-headedness in service delivery.
  • Full unrestricted D driving licence (auto restrictions acceptable) with no more than 3 penalty points.
  • Valid CPC qualification card, with up-to-date mandatory training.
  • At least two years’ experience driving a bus or coach.
  • Willing to apply for a DVLA Digital Tachograph driver’s card.
  • Willing to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
  • Current and valid D4 medical examination report.
