Qualifications

• Must hold a full unrestricted D driving licence with minimal penalty points.
• Valid CPC qualification card and up-to-date training required.

Job Title: PCV Driver

Our PCV Drivers are responsible for providing a professional driving service that supports our clients and service users. In addition to providing safe home-to-school transport, you may operate the passenger lift and assist the Passenger Assistant as needed.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operate the vehicle safely, adhering to local road restrictions and speed limits. Report any fines or tickets to the office promptly.
2. Perform mandatory vehicle checks before each use, reporting any defects.
3. Secure all passengers and wheelchair users correctly using the necessary safety equipment.
4. Ensure the vehicle has adequate fuel for journeys, refueling as required.
5. Keep the vehicle clean inside and out regularly, at least weekly.
6. Remove and replace seating as needed.
7. Park the vehicle correctly in designated bays at the depot.
8. Operate the passenger lift and other equipment safely for passenger entry and exit.
9. Communicate patiently and informatively with passengers and clients.
10. Assist the Passenger Assistant with their duties as required.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

1. Understanding of working with individuals with disabilities.
2. Patience and a level-headed attitude in service delivery.
3. Full unrestricted D driving licence (auto restrictions acceptable) with no more than 3 penalty points.
4. Valid CPC qualification card, with up-to-date mandatory training.
5. At least two years’ experience driving a bus or coach.
6. Willing to apply for a DVLA Digital Tachograph driver’s card.
7. Willing to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
8. Current and valid D4 medical examination report.
