Description

Our PCV Drivers are responsible for providing a professional driving service that supports our clients and service users. In addition to ensuring safe home-to-school transport, you may also operate the passenger lift and assist the Passenger Assistant with service users as required.

Department: PCV (Bus) Driver

Location: Wandsworth

Compensation: £15.85 / hour

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operate the vehicle safely, adhering to local road restrictions and speed limits. Report any fines or tickets to the office promptly.
  2. Perform mandatory vehicle checks before use and report any defects.
  3. Ensure all passengers and wheelchair users are secured correctly with safety equipment.
  4. Maintain adequate fuel for journeys, refueling as instructed.
  5. Keep the vehicle clean inside and out regularly, at least weekly.
  6. Remove and replace seating as needed.
  7. Park the vehicle correctly in the depot, preferably in pre-allocated bays.
  8. Operate the passenger lift and other equipment safely.
  9. Communicate patiently and informatively with passengers and clients.
  10. Assist the Passenger Assistant with their duties as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  1. Understanding of working with individuals with disabilities.
  2. Patience and a level-headed attitude to service delivery.
  3. Full unrestricted D driving license (auto restrictions acceptable) with no more than 3 penalty points.
  4. CPC qualification card with up-to-date training.
  5. At least two years’ experience driving a bus or coach.
  6. Willing to apply for a DVLA Digital Tachograph driver’s card.
  7. Willing to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
  8. Current and valid D4 medical examination report.
