Job summary

Gateway Unified School District invites applicants for the Bus Driver position in the Transportation Department for the 2026-2027 school year. The role is 6.00 hours per day with a split shift, Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

(unpaid mid-day break). Compensation ranges $24.07–$35.30 per hour, includes vacation factor, 182 workdays, and 14 holidays, plus retirement and health, dental, and vision benefits with district contribution.

• First Aid Certificate or CHP First Aid Test.

Bus Driver - Gateway Transportation Department

6.00 hrs/day - Split-shift

M-F 6:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (unpaid mid-day break)

Salary

$24.07 - $35.30 per/hr Range K

(Includes vacation factor)

182 workdays

(14 District paid holidays)

Includes contribution to a retirement system and access to health, dental, and vision benefits with District contribution.

License And Certificate Requirements

• Possession of a valid Class A or B California Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
• Possession of a Valid California School Bus Driver's Certificate.
• Possession of a First Aid Certificate or Passage of the California Highway Patrol First Aid Test.
• Possession of a valid CPR card.
• Possession of a Medical Certificated (Form DL 51).

PROCEDURE: The selection process will include an appraisal of individual applications and personal resumes. Candidates receiving the highest ratings will be selected for an interview. Only applicants selected for interview will be contacted.

Pre-hire Requirements For The Selected Applicant

• Background Check & Fingerprint Clearance (will be required to pay a fingerprint processing fee);
