We are welcoming applications to join our team in Weston-super-Mare.

About the Role

Bus driving is a rewarding career. You'll be providing a crucial service that customers value and rely on—getting to work or school, important doctor's appointments, shopping, or heading into town. Bus drivers are key workers who keep everyday life moving for local communities.

You'll be out on the road, working on your own initiative, but also part of a close-knit driving team that looks out for each other. Every day brings something different, and you'll meet some amazing people along the way.

These full-time, permanent positions involve working 39 hours per week on various shift patterns, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Compensation

Join us as a Trainee and you will earn: £14.25 per hour, rising to £14.75 after your 5-week training period, then to £15.50 after 12 months.

Join us as an Experienced Driver, and you will earn: £15.50 per hour.

PCV Licence Holders

If you are a qualified driver, you can receive a £3,000 bonus, paid in two installments over 12 months (after 6 and 12 months of service). To be eligible, you must not have worked for First Bus in the last 12 months.

Info for Trainees

The minimum age is 18, with at least 6 months' driving experience. No worries if you've never driven anything larger than a car—top-class training on modern, automatic buses is provided.
