Job summary

Arriva is offering an Apprentice Bus Technician programme based at Barking depot. You will be trained to inspect, diagnose, repair and test bus systems across different manufacturers, with hands-on tasks and mentorship from an experienced team.

The 4-year apprenticeship leads to a Bus and Coach Technician Level 3 qualification (Mech/Elec). Training blocks occur at a partner workshop in Wolverhampton, building core competencies for fault diagnosis, safety checks and vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (Grace C / Level 3) as a minimum.
• Aptitude for problem solving and practical tasks with a hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair and test bus equipment and systems.
• Operate diagnostic equipment to identify faults across models.
• Develop skills across a range of bus and coach vehicles.
• Work at Barking depot with experienced mentors supporting progression.
