Job summary

West Coast Motors (Glasgow) is looking for Bus and Coach Mechanics based at our Glasgow Charles Street depot to help maintain our fleet to the highest standards. You will perform servicing, repairs and MOT preparation on a varied fleet and contribute to safe, reliable journeys for our customers.

The role is five days out of seven. You should have SVQ Level 3 in Bus and Coach Engineering and Maintenance (or equivalent) or at least two years’ hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 3 in Bus and Coach Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent.
• At least two years' experience repairing and maintaining public service or heavy vehicles if no qualification.
• Driving licence required; PCV licence would be good to have, and we can help you obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle maintenance, servicing and running repairs on a varied fleet (including MOT preparation).
• Prompt repair of defective vehicles to a high standard in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained in accordance with the Company’s Operator Licence.
• Organise daily workload, communicate effectively and work flexibly.

Job description

We are looking for Bus and Coach Mechanics based at our Glasgow Charles Street depot to help maintain our fleet and ensure we operate to the highest possible standards.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle maintenance, servicing and running repairs on a varied fleet (including MOT preparation)
• Prompt repair of all defective vehicles to the highest standard in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Ensure vehicles are maintained in accordance with the Company’s Operator Licence
• The ability to organise daily workload, communicate effectively and work flexibly
• The ability to work to the highest Health & Safety standards

Requirements

• You will be energetic, self‑motivated, able to work unsupervised and thrive within a challenging yet rewarding environment
• You will have at least an SVQ Level 3 in Bus and Coach Engineering and Maintenance qualification (or an equivalent international qualification). If you don't have a qualification, you should have at least two years' experience repairing and maintaining public service or heavy goods vehicles which you will need to evidence
• The role will be 5 days over 7
• A driving licence is required and PCV licence would be good to have, however we can help you get your licence
