JOB PURPOSE

Burberry is looking for a talented and driven Licensing Manager to support the Senior Manager in the development of our growing Licensing business. In this key role, you will lead reporting and financial analysis across all Burberry's licences and owning and driving Licence category performance within Burberry's own retail Channels (Mainline, Digital & Outlet). Burberry's existing licences include our global Beauty (Fragrance/Make-up) licence with Coty and global Eyewear licence with Luxottica.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting & Financial Analysis

  • Preparation of relevant analysis/reporting on information provided by licensees and internal / external data to inform Licensing team on strategic decisions, including on net sales & A&P
  • Development of financial plans for licence categories to support annual budget and reforecasts & providing updates and slides for Quarterly Business Reviews with Senior Management
  • Development of financial business cases to support new opportunities within Licensing and wider New Business Development & Licensing function (e.g. potential collaborations)
  • Analysis of licensee documentation to confirm adherence to licence terms
  • Accurate and clear filing of documents on shared drives across all licences including royalty reports, marketing information, business reviews, briefs, and creative output
  • Analysis of industry trends affecting Burberry licence businesses, including beauty (fragrance and make-up) and eyewear, and sharing with teams


Owning & Driving Licencing Categories within Burberry Retail Channels

  • Responsible for all operations for Beauty within Burberry Retail Channels
    • Management of Beauty order forms and pricing forms with Coty, internal SAP product creation, sharing with BBS to ensure loading on SAP and wider Burberry Retail and Internal teams
    • Communication and coordination across licensee businesses and internal Burberry teams for new launches/updates and preparation of communication materials and subsequent documentation across Mainline & Digital channels
    • Coordination and review of regional forecasts for new launches and replenishment
    • Go-to point of contact for internal queries on Beauty in own channels


  • Driving strategy and performance of licence categories across Mainline, Burberry.com & Outlet
    • Ownership of key rules and guidelines for licence categories in all channels - inputting into Commercial Strategy and Regions
    • Ownership of Licensing Store Network database, keeping up-to-date with store listings, ranging, photos etc
    • Regular connections with Burberry regional and internal teams and licence partners to review performance and key drivers
    • Identification of key strategic opportunities to improve performance and leading on implementation, e.g. implementation of IT projects, mapping out ways of working and process improvements, in-store VM/fixtures, training, distribution
    • Preparation of financial business cases to justify any potential investment to implement


PERSONAL PROFILE

  • 5 years' working experience within a commercial environment; experience in Beauty (fragrance / make-up) preferred but not essential; proficient at Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Commercially minded - comfortable with quantitative reporting and KPIs; background, preferably with financial focus.
  • Resourceful and highly organised, with strong attention to detail and a high standard for quality outputs.
  • Excellent communication, writing and analytical skills; a good team player to create and maintain good relationships with the licensee and internal teams.
  • Flexible and comfortable working in a changing environment, with strong multi-tasking skills
