Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an Operative to join the Bundling team at the Painter Brothers site in Hereford. You will help move materials, load and unload trailers, and maintain stock records while operating plant equipment safely and efficiently.

You’ll work shifts, contribute to production continuity, and support continuous improvement while upholding our safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks or similar equipment.
• Ability to read drawings and complete workplace process documentation.
• Commitment to health and safety with a safe, clean working environment.
• Experience in steel fabrication or material handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks or automated plant machinery to load, unload and transport materials.
• Working as part of a team to support production requirements and keep materials moving efficiently.
• Inspecting incoming materials for defects or contamination before they enter the production process.
• Maintaining accurate stock records by logging material movements.
• Following risk assessments, work instructions and our Zero Harm approach to safety at all times.
• Producing quality work in line with our Quality Management System.
• Supporting continuous improvement and helping to reduce waste across our processes.
