Job summary

Cranswick plc in Preston is hiring Bulk Operatives for the Bulk Packing department at our Butchery Factory. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 07:00–16:30, with finish time depending on production and typically around 6pm.

The contract is 40 hours per week, with weekly pay and ongoing opportunities to learn and develop. You will lift and sort meat joints, feed them into machines, and work in a fast-paced environment focused on food safety and hygiene, quality KPIs, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role - Production Operative, Warehouse Operative, Picker/Packer - beneficial but not essential
• Enthusiasm to learn something new
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment to meet daily targets
• Good understanding of importance of both food safety/hygiene and health and safety
• Transport to get to site (HU12 8TB)

Responsibilities

• Lifting and sorting meat joints to crates and packing areas
• Feeding joints into different machines
• Operating around various machines and learning to use some
• Upskilling in label verification and potentially further
• Maintaining a clean and tidy area meeting safety and hygiene regulations
• Wearing PPE at all times
• Contributing to KPIs in quality, health, safety and environment, yields and customer service
