We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in Devon, who are recruiting for a Building Surveyor with experience in Retrofit/Decarbonisation on a 12-month contract.

The position is due to start immediately, with the potential to go full time. The daily rate of pay is negotiable up to £350.00 via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have extensive building pathology knowledge, exposure to Retrofit/Decarbonisation, and be RICS accredited.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

1. Undertaking detailed building inspections and providing specifications of works for Retrofit/Decarbonisation projects.
2. Enforcing and understanding PAS2035 standards, ensuring all contractors adhere to regulations, health, and safety standards.
3. Leading contractor meetings, ensuring understanding of timeframes, budgets, and regulations.
4. Monitoring contract health, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring they are addressed promptly.
5. Acting as the subject matter expert for Retrofit/Decarbonisation, providing advice and support to contractors and colleagues.

Experience required:

• Experience conducting detailed inspections on Retrofit/Decarbonisation works.
• Experience in Contract Administration.

Working hours:

37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with flexible start and finish times.
