Supporting and assisting the Planned Maintenance Manager by implementing the planned maintenance programmes identified in the Asset Management Strategy.
As a Building Surveyor (Redevelopment), your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the Planned Maintenance Manager by implementing maintenance programmes, managing budgets and estimates, and completing Government returns.
- Responding to service requests/enquiries for housing and taking appropriate action.
- Collaborating with the Planned Maintenance Manager and technical staff in procurement and delivery of planned maintenance work, considering resources and funding.
- Undertaking pre-contract and contract duties for maintenance and refurbishment projects.
- Following inspections, preparing reports, correspondence, notices, and conducting revisits to ensure compliance.
- Investigating complaints regarding housing conditions and taking appropriate action.
- Maintaining registers, recording actions, and assisting with statistical data when required.
- Maintaining professional competence and supporting colleagues.
- Working outside normal hours as needed, including out-of-hours duties and responding to civil emergencies.

About you:
- Qualified to B/TEC in Construction or similar, with experience in housing inspections including the Housing Health and Safety Rating Scheme.
- Good knowledge of Building Construction, the Decent Homes Standard, and related standards.
- Ability to communicate clearly, deal with vulnerable tenants, and work independently.
- Ability to work as part of a team and produce reports.
- Full driving licence and access to a car for travel throughout the district. Ability to climb ladders and access roof spaces.
