Job summary

MMP Consultancy Limited is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to lead Planned Preventative Maintenance and Capital Projects for a public sector client in Castle Point, Essex. The role focuses on maintaining assets to a high standard and delivering capital projects on time and within budget.

This full-time, hybrid position offers up to £500 per day (Umbrella) and an initial 3-month contract, with minimum 3 days in the office each week.

Qualifications

• RICS qualification essential.
• Experience in building surveying, planned preventative maintenance and capital project delivery.
• Knowledge of property maintenance, building defects and construction practices.
• Experience managing contractors, service contracts and capital works programmes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes across a varied property portfolio.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of capital projects, from initial planning and specification through to delivery and completion.
• Ensure capital projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Manage facilities management operations, ensuring buildings and assets remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
• Monitor contractor performance, service delivery, budgets and contractual obligations.
• Undertake building inspections, condition surveys and technical assessments to identify maintenance and investment requirements.
• Provide professional property advice to support wider asset management and estate strategies.
• Work closely with senior management, internal departments, tenants, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant property legislation, health and safety regulations and statutory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve asset performance, operational efficiency and long-term maintenance planning.
