Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited in Nottingham seeks a Building Surveyor with post-degree experience to deliver refurbishment, maintenance and capital works on public and private sector projects. You will prepare briefs, manage budgets, and coordinate stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.

The role requires strong technical and commercial awareness, plus excellent communication skills and willingness to travel to sites. A UK driving licence and RICS progression are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Surveying or related construction discipline.
• Student member of RICS and working toward chartership.
• Experience supporting refurbishment, maintenance or capital works projects.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and construction legislation.
• Experience or exposure to NEC and/or JCT contract administration.
• Strong project planning, organisation and time management skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
• Experience across private and public sectors would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of digital surveying technologies and tools advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage refurbishment, maintenance and capital improvement projects from feasibility through to completion.
• Prepare project briefs, specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
• Support project planning, programming, cost control and budget management.
• Monitor project performance against programme, quality, scope and financial objectives.
• Conduct condition surveys, building inspections and defect investigations.
• Produce technical reports with defect analysis and recommendations for remedial works.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants, clients and stakeholders throughout lifecycles.
• Administer construction contracts, including NEC and JCT forms of contract.
• Carry out site inspections, progress reviews and quality checks.
• Support compliance with Building Regulations, CDM requirements and health and safety legislation.
