Job summary

Local Authority is seeking two Building Surveyor Managers to lead a team and oversee repairs across a substantial residential portfolio. The roles are permanent, full-time with hybrid working (two days onsite per week).

Applicants should have a Building Surveying degree, 5+ years post-qualification experience, and strong skills in contract management and stakeholder engagement. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• A degree in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related discipline is required.
• At least 5 years post-qualification experience in building surveying, maintenance, or construction.
• Experience managing teams and delivering complex projects.
• Strong contract management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Knowledge of building maintenance, construction, procurement, and health and safety legislation.
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Building Surveyors and technical staff.
• Deliver planned maintenance and capital investment programmes.
• Manage refurbishment and housing improvement projects from inception to completion.
• Provide expert advice on building defects, repairs, and construction matters.
• Oversee contractors, procurement activities, and contract performance.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and statutory requirements.
• Manage budgets and build relationships with key stakeholders.
