Job summary

Churchill Estates Management is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor based in Hampshire with extensive travel across the Southern region. You will conduct site surveys, gather stock condition data, and support asset management and compliance across our retirement developments.

Ideal candidates will have an HNC or degree, professional qualifications such as RICS/CIOB/ABE, CSCS, and strong communication with stakeholders. Travel to Head Office in Ringwood may be required.

Qualifications

• Educated to HNC or degree level in construction or property subject.
• Professional qualification such as RICS, CIOB, or ABE (desirable) and CSCS card.
• Experience in construction or property management with knowledge of Health & Safety, Building Regulations, Fire Safety and Asbestos Awareness.
• Excellent communication skills and liaise with contractors, homeowners and internal stakeholders.
• Organised with strong IT skills including MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Undertake site-based external and internal property surveys across retirement developments.
• Provide stock condition data to support regulatory compliance and asset management.
• Inform future asset management and maintenance, including Section 20 major works consultations.
• Collaborate with Homeowners, Health & Safety Executive, Lodge Managers and regional teams.

About the role

Churchill Estates Management are recruiting for an experienced Building Surveyor to undertake site-based external and internal property surveys across our portfolio of retirement developments. The Building Surveyor will provide Churchill Estates with reliable and robust stock condition data, instrumental in ensuring our company remains fully compliant with legislation and regulations. The Building Surveyor will inform future asset management and maintenance of our property portfolio, including Section 20 major works consultations, enabling our Homeowners to benefit from the highest standards of retirement accommodation. As part of the Property Services team, the Building Surveyor will report to the Property Services Manager who is based in Ringwood, Hampshire, therefore requiring occasional travel to our Head Office. In addition, key stakeholders will include Homeowners, Health & Safety Executive, Lodge Managers, Regional and Area Management teams.

About you

Ideally, our new Building Surveyor will be educated to HNC or degree level in a related construction or property subject. You may hold, or be working towards, a professional qualification such as RICS, CIOB or ABE and be an existing CSCS card holder. The Building Surveyor will demonstrate previous experience within the construction or property management industry with excellent knowledge of Health & Safety, Building Regulations, Fire Safety and Asbestos Awareness. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and be comfortable communicating with contractors, customers, our Homeowners and internal stakeholders. You will be highly organised, with excellent IT skills, including MS Excel. You will take a proactive approach to your work, enjoy a fast-paced environment, with a keen eye for detail and a 'can-do' attitude.
