Job description

Join a small but expanding team of consultants specialising in Project Management for Education Construction and Maintenance projects across East Anglia & Essex.

What's in it for me?
  • A real career opportunity, working directly alongside an expanding team of surveyors.
  • A small friendly firm that provides excellent training and support. Salary packages circa £40k-£55k DOE plus benefits package & bonus.
  • Hybrid working arrangement with circa 2-3 days based from home.
  • Over 2 years' worth of work secured at the moment, so the firm is not the ‘risk’ a small, newish firm might typically present!
  • Work on secured projects throughout East Anglia & Essex, generated through repeat business and successful awards.
  • Client-facing role working on your own projects from £100k - £2m.
  • Work alongside academics, consultants, and contractors. Managing a broad range of projects on behalf of academy trusts, schools, and colleges.
What will I be doing?

Working predominantly within the Education and Academy sector, your skills in Building Surveying and Project Management will help deliver a number of new build and refurbishment projects across several framework agreements. No two days will be the same as you strive to deliver projects typically from £150k - £2m. You’ll be involved from concept to completion with further involvement with condition surveying and client liaison.

You will be regularly involved with the team to deliver projects with support and encouragement to start to take the lead of your own projects. Experienced surveyors tend to have 3-4 projects on the go at once, valued between £500k to £1m. It’s mostly schools work, but there could be further opportunities within sports and leisure projects. You’ll also regularly interact with contractors, consultants, and design teams, providing plenty of opportunities to apply your strong communication and management skills.

What do I need to be considered?

Generally, you’ll have a Building Surveying background, ideally with 2-4 years post-graduate experience managing minor to medium-sized projects in the private sector. Priority will be given to Surveyors working towards MRICS, although it isn't essential if you have the right experience.

To be part of this team, you’ll need to bring your energy, enthusiasm, and ambition.
