Job description

Job Title: Building Surveyor

Our client, a multi-disciplinary Consultancy, is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their team based in Reigate on a full-time, permanent basis. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, the role will primarily involve projects in the Midlands and surrounding areas.

This busy and varied role involves supporting the Surveying team across a wide range of projects, including insurance work, residential, and commercial buildings in various construction types. The Building Surveyor will support their Line Manager and be responsible for managing projects within their authority level, as well as providing training and guidance to team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Inspect and advise on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of buildings and sites
  2. Conduct acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys, and defect investigations
  3. Prepare reports, schedules of work, and specifications
  4. Design and oversee works using recognized building contracts and current technical standards
  5. Apply relevant legislation such as health and safety, party wall, building regulations, and planning
  6. Promote the company's services and secure new projects
  7. Ensure compliance with company procedures, personnel policies, and Health & Safety regulations
Minimum Requirements:
  • BSc or MSc in Building Surveying
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in Building Surveying
  • Knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural, and planning practices, supported by awareness of statutory requirements and technical publications
