Job description

Building Surveyor needed in Redditch, £27.30ph

PAYE - Reference: RQ1528302

  1. Undertake feasibility studies and stock condition surveys, and prepare specifications and schedules of works for remedial works.
  2. Provide regular updates on expenditure for capital budgets and service performance; maintain financial and statistical records for all capital works, including special projects.
  3. Monitor and supervise contractors to ensure effective and efficient delivery of work/contract.
  4. Prepare and present regular progress and performance reports of contracts during monthly contract meetings.
  5. Handle customer complaints and undertake necessary actions.
  6. Assist in identifying properties and schemes requiring future planned maintenance, including conducting stock condition surveys.
  7. Conduct pre- and post-inspections of void properties; prepare detailed schedules of works for contractors and obtain quotations in line with the Council's procurement rules.
  8. Survey specialist projects/works and compile information to assist in preparing specifications and other contract documents, including measured surveys.
  9. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and respond promptly to actions arising from the Council’s legal obligations, e.g., Section 82 and Section 11 requirements.

This is a full-time role on a temporary contract basis.
