Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Worcestershire is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their Disrepair team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.

The role

The key purpose of the role is to deliver high-quality services in line with statutory and operational requirements, supporting the team with day-to-day responsibilities and contributing to the efficient running of the service.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  1. Conducting inspections, assessments, or other service-related tasks in line with regulations and best practice; preparing reports, maintaining accurate records, and updating relevant systems.
  2. Collaborating with colleagues, stakeholders, and service users to deliver service objectives.
  3. Managing and delivering housing maintenance and capital works.
  4. Conducting inspections (void and tenanted), preparing schedules of work, and supervising contractors.
The Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will require:

  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in building/surveying environments.
  • Understanding of housing maintenance, building construction, contracts, and property compliance.
  • Experience preparing specifications, schedules of work, and managing contractor performance.

The following skills would be beneficial for the role:

  • Relevant certifications in H&S, asbestos, CDM.
  • Good IT literacy, particularly with housing management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and is offering £35 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £27 per hour PAYE).
