Job description

Building Surveyor (Rail)

Contract Length: 12 months MINIMUM

Location: Crewe to Carlisle. Predominantly looking after sites in Cumbria region, with occasional meetings in Manchester

IR35: Inside

Pay Rate to Candidate: Between £300 – £450 / day (Umbrella) + Van and Fuel Card

A Building Surveyor is required to join a Rail client on a long-term contract in Cumbria. As a Building Surveyor, you will be required to deliver annual property inspections, reporting on the condition of building assets, including stations, depots and lineside buildings. The role will cover the North of the route from Crewe to Carlisle, but most sites will be based in Cumbria. You will be required to obtain a PTS and Working from Heights qualification.

The successful candidate will have a Building Surveying degree or equivalent, have a full UK driving license, and be able to work and communicate effectively in a team context. The ideal candidate will have rail specific experience with an STE05 competency, and be a member of a relevant engineering professional institution.

Please be advised that in order to qualify for this role, you must be willing to obtain a Personal Track Safety (PTS) ticket, as well as a Working from Heights ticket. To work on the railway, you must pass a drugs and alcohol, and medical screening to ensure you are fit to work on the rail.
