Job summary

Mane is seeking experienced Building Surveyors / Domestic Energy Assessors to support residential surveys across Salisbury and Dorset. You will conduct detailed condition surveys, identify defects and provide remedial recommendations, including Domestic Energy Assessments where needed.

The role involves visiting occupied properties and ensuring high-quality survey data. The position offers payment on a per-completed-survey basis (£85 per survey) and requires BPSS/DBS clearance.

Qualifications

• Strong written communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed condition surveys and inspections of residential properties.
• Assess the condition of building fabric, identifying defects and remedial works.
• Record defects accurately using photographs, measurements and clear written descriptions.
• Provide practical recommendations for repair and remedial works.
• Complete Domestic Energy Assessments (EPCs) where required.
• Maintain accurate survey information and contribute to asset registers.
• Ensure survey data is recorded consistently and to the required standard.
• Support data collection for capital planning and statutory compliance.
• Interpret drawings and existing property information where required.
• Visit occupied properties professionally and respectfully.
• Maintain health, safety and quality throughout site activities.

About the Role

We are currently seeking experienced Building Surveyors / Domestic Energy Assessors to support a residential property surveying programme across the Salisbury and Dorset areas.
The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out detailed property condition surveys, identifying defects, recording findings accurately and providing clear recommendations for remedial works. The role will involve visiting residential properties, including occupied buildings, and producing concise, accurate survey information to support wider asset management, capital planning and compliance requirements.
This is a survey-based opportunity, with payment made at £85 per completed survey, rather than on an hourly basis.

Requirements

  Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) qualification - essential.

  Understanding of practical repair and maintenance methods.
• 
  Competent in taking site measurements, photographs and detailed survey notes.
• 
  Strong written communication and report-writing skills.

Working Arrangement & Payment

The hiring office is based in Cardiff, with this requirement specifically focused on surveyors located in or around Salisbury, Dorset and the surrounding areas.
This position is paid on a per-survey basis at £85 for each completed survey, rather than an hourly rate.
