Hays is excited to be working in partnership with Academy Estate Consultants, a privately owned Building Consultancy providing comprehensive professional services predominantly within the education sector.

At Academy Estate Consultants, you will join a culture focused on creating inspiring and sustainable spaces. The organisation thrives on building strong relationships by understanding their clients' challenges, sharing their vision, and helping transform potential into reality. They focus on maximising efficiencies to save time and money for their clients.

Due to ongoing success and growth, the Academy Estate team is looking to expand its professional Surveying and Project Management department by recruiting intermediate Surveyors/Project Managers responsible for procuring and delivering a wide range of construction, mechanical, and electrical projects. These include, but are not limited to, new build schemes, fire door renewals, cladding and window renewals, new heating and ventilation systems, electrical distribution (power, lighting), fire alarm renewals, laboratory refurbishments, and drainage replacements.

As an Intermediate Building Surveyor/Project Manager, you will handle project management, contract administration, and employer’s agent duties mainly for education clients. Responsibilities include feasibility studies, condition surveys, defect analysis, measured surveys, specification writing, contract administration, and project delivery. You will conduct site inspections, chair meetings, and provide progress and financial reports. Senior roles are available with additional responsibilities.

APC support and mentoring are provided for those aiming for MRICS qualification. Benefits include annual holiday entitlement, pension contributions, a competitive salary, participation in an annual bonus scheme, and staff social events.

To succeed in this role, you should hold an RICS-accredited Building Surveying degree (or similar), with experience in a Surveying consultancy environment. Experience with education projects is preferred. Proven experience in project management and contract administration is essential. You should be motivated, positive, and team-oriented. The role involves office work and site visits. You need to be forward-thinking, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement. A driving license and access to a vehicle are required, and you should live within a reasonable distance of Billericay, Essex.
