Job description

We're looking for a Building Surveying Lead to join our Consultancy Project Services team based in Liverpool.

Location: Liverpool - with remote working available. The role requires regular travel to visit staff in Speke (near Liverpool), Lincoln, Gerrards Cross, Waterbeach (near Cambridge), and various Kier and client sites nationwide.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility available. Please discuss your preferences when speaking with us.

Salary: GBP60,000 to GBP70,000 plus GBP6,700 annual car allowance, private healthcare, and other benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of building surveyors, providing technical leadership and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Manage projects involving maintenance, repair, refurbishment, remodelling, restoration, extension, or demolition of existing buildings for internal and external clients across public and private sectors.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, undertake business development activities, and identify new opportunities.
  • Oversee the financial and operational aspects of building surveying projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

Requirements:

  • Full membership of RICS as a Building Surveyor, Chartered Surveyor, or an equivalent professional body, with Chartered status.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Proven leadership, motivation, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Experience across a range of building types and sectors, ideally including both public and private sectors.
  • Strong contract administration skills, familiarity with JCT and NEC contracts, project management, procurement processes, and proficiency in NBS Chorus and AutoCAD.
  • Personal energy, ambition, and a desire to lead and develop a team.
