Job Description

As a Building Services Supervisor working days, you will lead a team of six 24/7/365 SCEs, ensuring the Bank’s critical infrastructure is always operational. You will be part of the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team, responsible for the safe functioning of the London premises, which include Grade I listed Threadneedle Street and Moorgate.

This role involves operational management of critical systems, acting as a first responder to alarms, coordinating emergency procedures, and managing incident responses and recovery.

You will also undertake maintenance and project work, support energy and building services management, and lead the SCE team to ensure continuous availability of critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage critical building services in a Grade I listed building.
  • Coordinate as an authorised person for electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring safety protocols.
  • Complete statutory and maintenance tasks per SLAs.
  • Respond to incidents, coordinating safe recovery.
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities, including energy optimization.
  • Manage staff, including scheduling, training, and development.
  • Monitor BMS and other systems, initiating remediation as needed.

Skills and Experience

  • HNC/HND or equivalent in building services or level 3 technical qualification with experience.
  • Staff management experience in operations and maintenance.
  • Experience with Safe Systems of Work and being an Authorised Person.
  • Proficiency with Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM).
  • Experience with reactive and planned maintenance regimes.
  • Strong understanding of building services and statutory compliance.
  • Ability to learn and apply system and plant operating instructions.
  • Ability to work under pressure resolving complex faults and emergencies.
  • Ability to interpret building services drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and reporting.
