Job Summary

This position works within the Facilities and Operations Team and is responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the Rep and its associated buildings providing technical and physical assistance for a variety of maintenance activities including both reactive and planned preventative.

Job Description

The Building Services Multi Skilled Technician works within the Facilities and Operations Team and is responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the Rep and its associated buildings, providing technical and physical assistance for a variety of maintenance activities including both reactive and planned preventative ensuring that our equipment, plants and assets remain in optimal working condition, preventing failures and breakdowns of systems and installations.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in theatres or similar venues and skills in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and building fabric. Strong communication, numeracy, and a UK driving licence are essential. Forklift, working-at-height, and PAT testing certifications are required or must be gained during probation. Experience in customer-focused settings and similar-sized organisations, ideally in producing theatre, is preferred.

Job Requirements
  • Proven experience of maintenance of a theatre or similar large public venue is essential.
  • High standard of spoken English, literacy and numeracy.
  • Proven experience of maintenance services i.e. Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Building Fabric, Carpentry, locksmith
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Fork lift truck certification, or the successful candidate must be willing to undertake training and complete certification within probationary period.
  • Experience of working at height and accreditation IPAF/PASMA/ManSafe Latchways, or the successful candidate must be willing to undertake training and complete certification within probationary period.
  • PAT Tester qualified, or the successful candidate must be willing to undertake training and complete certification within probationary period.
  • Experience of working in a similar role within a similar sized organisations (preferably producing theatre but, not essential)
  • Experience in a customer focused environment
Job Responsibilities

  • To maintain a safe, secure and clean environment for staff, customers and visitors
  • To deliver an efficient and effective building services maintenance both reactive and planned following schedules appropriately
  • To support, deliver and enable the technical and physical requirements of theatre productions, events and other activities
