Our client based in Cape Town is seeking a Building Services Mechanical Engineer (Fire) to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing fire safety and fire compliance designs for multi-disciplinary construction projects throughout South Africa and abroad.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage small and medium projects with none or limited guidance, manage large projects on experience-proven basis or as part of company fire design management team.
  • Minimum 5-years’ experience in the mechanical building services environment.
  • Minimum 5-years’ experience in SANS deemed to satisfy and rational building fire safety design, design of firefighting equipment, smoke evacuation systems, stair pressurization systems and fire sprinkler systems.
  • Experience in thermal modelling will be advantageous.
  • Professionally represent company in client meetings, site meetings and surveys.
  • Assist with preparation of tender documentation and general project management administration.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong MS Word and MS Excel skills.
  • Ideal candidate is a driven individual who is looking for interesting and challenging project experience and is either already registered or keen to apply for and obtain ECSA professional registration status.
