Job Description:

Background

As a Building Services Manager, you will join a multidisciplinary contractor design team involved in projects at all stages. Projects range from £0.1m to over £30m, including education, retail, commercial, industrial, offices, medical, research facilities, and residential developments.

You will provide design and commissioning support, peer reviews, building physics, and embodied carbon advice, while supporting site checks, verification, and validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess tender drawings and specifications for compliance with regulations and legislation.
  • Evaluate pre-contract quotes and technical submissions, reporting on risks and opportunities.
  • Assist the in-house design team and support construction activities.
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractor activities during construction.
  • Coordinate commissioning, handover, and post-occupancy assessments.
  • Review energy performance assessments and certifications.
  • Mentor junior staff and prepare technical reports.
  • Contribute to tender submissions and client meetings.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and defect rectification.
  • Support company initiatives.

Key Skills & Knowledge

  • Building Regulations, NHBC, CIBSE, BSRIA, Standards
  • Knowledge of TM52, TM54, TM59, TM65 is advantageous

Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
  • Membership of ACIBSE, MIET, or similar
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
