Job summary

Walker & Sloan are recruiting an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead the MEP and technical services across a Bristol-based portfolio of design & build projects.

You will coordinate with Project Managers, Design Managers, consultants and specialist subcontractors from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring robust, fully coordinated packages that meet programme, quality and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical building services.
• Experience in the construction industry with relevant project exposure.
• Experience in roles such as Technical Services Manager, MEP Manager, Building Services Manager or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead on all mechanical and electrical aspects from pre-construction to handover.

Technical Services Manager | Design & Build Construction

Walker & Sloan are working with an outstanding design & build construction contractor to recruit an experienced Technical Services Manager to join their growing team in Bristol.

Our client has built an exceptional reputation for delivering high-quality, technically challenging projects across the South West, with schemes ranging from complex refurbishments through to major new build developments valued at up to c.£20 million.

With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued growth across the region, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced building services professional to take ownership of the MEP and technical services function across a varied portfolio of projects.

The Role

As Technical Services Manager, you’ll take the lead on all mechanical and electrical aspects of projects from pre-construction and design development through procurement, installation, commissioning and final handover.

Working closely with Project Managers, Design Managers, consultants and specialist subcontractors, you’ll ensure building services packages are technically robust, fully coordinated, commercially considered and successfully integrated into the wider construction programme.

You’ll provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, challenging design where appropriate, identifying potential issues before they reach site and ensuring MEP delivery remains aligned with programme, quality and client expectations.

This is a role with genuine influence across both pre-construction and live project delivery.

About You

You’ll have a strong background within mechanical and/or electrical building services and significant experience working within the construction industry.

You may currently be working as a Technical Services Manager, MEP Manager, Building Services Manager or M&E Manager, either for a main contractor or established specialist contractor.

You’ll be confident managing consultants and subcontractors, reviewing technical designs, coordinating MEP packages and solving complex building services challenges throughout the construction process.

Most importantly, you’ll be commercially aware, technically strong and comfortable working alongside senior project teams and clients on fast-moving design & build projects.
