What you need to know

A BAM apprenticeship is a full-time earn-and-learn position involving delivery of multi-million projects, leaving a lasting legacy and positive change in communities.

Our 5-year technical apprenticeships start at level 4, leading to a Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4) in Building Services Engineering. After completing the 2-year Level 4 program, you can progress to a 3-year Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship to gain a full honours degree.

You will be enrolled onto a Level 4 Building Services Engineering Senior Technician Apprenticeship with Coventry University, studying on a day release basis.

What you'll be doing

Based out of our Solihull office, you will work on projects across our central region, including schools, leisure centres, and construction/refurbishment works at East Midlands Airport.

On these projects, you will:

  • Assist with the design and development of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Use industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to create technical drawings.
  • Conduct site visits to assess progress and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with contractors and other engineers.
  • Learn to ensure compliance with building codes, sustainability standards, and health and safety regulations.
What you'll need

Academic Requirements

  • GCSE (or equivalent) grade 5 (B) or above in Maths
  • GCSE (or equivalent) grade 5 (B) or above in English Language
  • 3 additional GCSEs (or equivalent) grade 4 (C) or above

Plus

  • 3 x A Levels (or equivalent) at grade CCC or above
  • 2 x STEM A Levels or other relevant Level 3 Qualification (e.g., civil engineering or construction in the built environment)
