What you need to know

Our apprenticeships

A BAM apprenticeship is a full time earn and learn position; where you will be involved in delivering multi million projects. Leaving a lasting legacy and positive change in our communities.

Our 5 year technical apprenticeships starts at level 4, where you will work towards a Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4) in Building Services Engineering. Upon successful completion of the 2 year Level 4 programme, you will then be given the opportunity to progress on to a 3 year Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship, gain a full honours degree.

You will be enrolled onto a L4 Building Services Engineering Senior Technician Apprenticeship with Coventry University on a day release study basis.

What you'll be doing

Working out of our Solihull office as a base, you will be working on projects across our central region which include the construction of schools and leisure centres as well as construction and refurbishment works at East Midlands Airport.

On these projects you will;

• Assist with the design and development of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Use industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to create technical drawings.
• Conduct site visits to assess project progress and resolve issues.
• Collaborate withcontractors and other engineers.
• Learn to ensure compliance with building codes, sustainability standards, and health and safety regulations.

What you'll need

Academic Requirements

• GCSE (or equivalent) grade 5 (B) or above in Maths
• GCSE (or equivalent)grade 5 (B) or above in English Language
• 3 additional GCSE’s (or equivalent) grade 4 (C) of above

Plus

• 3 x A Levels (or equivalent) at grade CCC or above
• 2 x STEM A Level or other relevantLevel 3 Qualification (eg civil engineering or construction in the built environment)

We are looking for candidates with a desire to develop a career in the construction industry with the following skills and behaviours;

• Disciplined and able to manage degree level study and busy job role
• Highly numerate with an attention to detail
• Able to adapt when priorities change
• Happy to work on site and travel as and when required
• Punctual, reliable and committed to delivery high quality work
• Strong communication skills

Additional Requirements

• Due to the project nature of our business, apprentices must be willing to travel and stay away from home necessary
• As some of our projects are in remote areas; we also require all applicants to hold or be working towards gaining a full UK driving licence before September 2025
