Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an Electrical Mobile Building Services Engineer to join our team covering London region. You will perform general maintenance, statutory checks, and on-site repairs, with duties including lighting, plumbing and fabric maintenance as part of a facilities management environment.

The role requires proactive planning, client engagement, smart appearance, and the ability to work early or late shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• IT literacy including MS Word and Excel
• Experience in basic plumbing, carpentry and redecorating tasks
• Experience with statutory ppm inspections and health & safety practices
• Understanding of planned preventative maintenance regimes
• Experience documenting risk assessments and permits to work for hard services
• Experience using BMS systems
• Knowledge of maintenance schedules including SFG 20
• Full UK driving license

Responsibilities

• Plan, inspect, and repair or maintain assets; respond to breakdowns promptly
• Carry out reactive and planned services in offices, commercial, distribution and industrial premises
• Maintain customer relations and manage client expectations
• Provide technical guidance to contract staff and clients
• Assist sub-contractors on site
• Keep site documentation up to date
• Ensure work complies with specs and health & safety
• Perform minor building fabric repairs

About The Role

Working Pattern: Early 06.30 - 15.00, Late 08.30 - 17.00

We have an exciting opportunity foran Electrical Mobile Building Services Engineerto join our team working on key contract(s) within the London region.

You will be required to carry out general maintenance and statutory compliance checks and will berequired to have basicplumbing,electricaland fabric maintenance skills, ideally with experience working in a similarfacilities managementenvironment.

The rolewill require client engagement and a willingness to provide the best possible solutions to meet theclient’sneeds, so youwillberequired to maintain asmart appearance. You must have a good understand of both spoken and written English.

Early starts and late finishes may be required as part of this role to allow for disruptive works to be completed with minimal disruption to the client. The role also requiresyou to be able to think proactively arranging materials, providing information forquotations,and managing the clients’expectations

Main Duties

• Planning, inspecting, and carrying out repairs or preventative maintenance as required and responding to breakdowns in a timely fashion.
• Carry outreactive and plannedservices in a range of environmentsfromoffices,commercial, distribution and industrialpremises.
• Trade skills are desirable or previous experience performingIna similar role
• Carrying out statutory inspection of assets including Emergency Lighting, Water Temperature checks, Fire Door inspection and repairs, Plumbing repairs, Lighting checksincluding basic replacementsand other minor reactive works.
• Being an ambassador for the customer; dealing professionally with complaints and queries
• supportengineer sub-contractors upon attending site.
• Providing technical guidance to the client and contract support
• Carrying out minor building fabric repairs
• Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with agreed specifications and in line with Health & Safety legislation.
• Upkeeping of site documentation

To be successful in the role, you will need:

• Must be IT literate to a good standard using Microsoft Word, Exceletc
• Experience in a comparable role undertaking basic plumbing, carpentry, redecoration tasks and carrying out statutory ppm inspections with a good understanding of Health & Safety workingpractices
• Understanding of planned preventative maintenance regimes
• Experience of completing risk assessments and method statements; along with issuing permit to work for hard servicetasks
• Experience using BMS system.
• Knowledge of maintenance schedules and SFG 20 would bedesirable
• Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer-basedsystems
• Must hold a full UK driving license as use of company vehicle may berequired

Essential Qualifications:

• A craft qualification such as a recognised electrical apprenticeship such as or equivalent to City & Guilds 2350 NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation Engineering + AM2
• The current wiring regulations qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2381-18 Level 3 Award (18th Edition)
• Valid and in date Grade card/CSCS Card or equivalent qualification.

Desirable Qualifications:

• An Inspection & Testing qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2391-52 Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
