Building Services Engineer
Department: Corporate Services and Facilities
Salary: £43,151-£46,387 plus Recruitment and Retention Allowance of £2,500 per annum.
This is a full-time position for 37 hours per week, open to flexible, compressed, and part-time working patterns with a minimum coverage of 30 hours, Monday to Friday. You will be part of an on-call rota, typically for a week every six weeks, for which you will receive an on-call allowance.
Do you want to work on an estate with incredible technical facilities where you can make a difference supporting security? You’ll use your knowledge and experience of building services to maintain and enhance an expanding estate with various facilities, services, and utilities across multiple buildings. The campus includes manufacturing workshops, engineering laboratories, screened rooms, clean rooms, server rooms, and offices. Some buildings are newly constructed, while others are around 50 years old, with varying infrastructure.
You’ll work in a fast-paced environment with diverse daily tasks, interacting with a wide range of users and suppliers. You will plan and deliver projects, from complex new facilities to statutory compliance work.
Your responsibilities include project managing system replacements, arranging reactive repairs, diagnosing and fixing building system issues, and ensuring safety and compliance standards are met.
You will join a supportive team where professional development and training are encouraged, including externally recognized CIBSE courses and in-house sessions.
Additional beneficial skills include good communication, familiarity with ISO standards, and experience with software like AutoCAD.
