Building Services Engineer

Department: Corporate Services and Facilities

Salary: £43,151-£46,387 + Recruitment and Retention Allowance of £2,500 per annum

This is a full-time position for 37 hours per week, open to flexible, compressed, and part-time working patterns with a minimum coverage of 30 hours Monday to Friday. You will be part of an on-call rota typically for a week every six weeks, for which you will receive an on-call allowance.

Role Overview: You will work on an estate with advanced technical facilities, maintaining and enhancing a diverse campus that includes manufacturing workshops, laboratories, server rooms, and offices. The campus features buildings of various ages and infrastructure types. Your responsibilities include managing projects, delivering new facilities, ensuring statutory compliance, and maintaining building systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project management of system replacements and infrastructure upgrades.
2. Responding to and resolving reactive breakdowns.
3. Diagnosing issues with building systems using analytical skills.
4. Collaborating within a team, supporting professional development, and participating in training courses, including externally recognized CIBSE courses.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Professional qualification in building services or relevant experience.
• Understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and building regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills:

• Strong communication skills.
• Experience with ISO standards such as ISO 50001, ISO 14001.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD.

Additional Duties: Ensuring safety and compliance, leading projects, responding to infrastructure failures, interrogating Building Management System, and addressing user requests.
