Building Services Engineer

Salary

£43,151 - £46,387 plus Recruitment and Retention Allowance of £2,500 per annum.

Position Details

This is a full-time role for 37 hours per week, with flexible, compressed, and part-time options (minimum 30 hours, Monday to Friday). An on-call rota is involved, typically for a week every six weeks, with an allowance provided.

Role Overview

You will work on an estate with advanced technical facilities, supporting national security. Your responsibilities include maintaining and improving a diverse estate with unique facilities such as manufacturing workshops, labs, server rooms, and offices across buildings of varying ages and infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects involving system replacements and statutory compliance.
  • Respond to reactive repair requests and diagnose system issues using analytical skills.
  • Collaborate within a small team, with opportunities for professional development and training, including externally recognized courses.
Candidate Requirements

Essential: Professional qualification or experience in building services; knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems; understanding of building regulations and safety standards; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Desirable: Experience with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 50001, ISO 14001); familiarity with AutoCAD; strong communication skills; ability to translate non-technical needs into technical specs; adaptability.
