Overview

Building Services Engineer
Location: UK Remote - Mobile Working Period: Full-time

Salary: Up to £55,000

Based from home, working as a nationally mobile technical support specialist across the Yugo Managed Estate portfolio of approximately 100 properties across the UK, supporting the Building Services Manager in delivering the following services:

Responsibilities

• Support the Building Services / FM Support Team and stakeholders in specifying, scheduling, delivering, recording, and reporting on planned and reactive maintenance, emergency works, and projects within the Managed Estate.
• Conduct Acceptance into Service activities, including design and specification reviews, H&S file reviews, functional testing, witnessing, observation, and reporting of performance, as well as defect identification and snagging.
• Identify technical issues within the estate and undertake detailed investigations and reviews as instructed or necessary.
• Prepare professional reports on estate issues, referencing relevant statutes, regulations, standards, guidance, and industry best practices.
• Track and report building and service defects and operational difficulties, analyze causality, notify property owners, and propose solutions with cost estimates and project proposals.
• Assist with desktop H&S file reviews, data gathering, analysis, and reporting tasks.
• Conduct physical site asset surveys to determine asset types, quantities, conditions, and compile asset schedules.
• Provide technical support and advice on building services, including fabric, mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Generate project work packages, scopes, and specifications.
• Manage Requests for Quotation / Tender processes for project works such as lifecycle replacements, defect remediation, and estate improvements.
• Provide cost estimations using industry guides to support budgeting and project estimation.
• Maintain and report on backlog and lifecycle works registers.
• Manage specialist subcontractors, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Perform other duties as reasonably required within the scope of the Building Services Engineer role.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Experience:
- Relevant technical or building services degree or equivalent.
- Experience in a Building Services Engineer role within a large multi-client estate.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation, construction management, and contractor management.
- Familiarity with UK building regulations, standards, and legislation.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
