This is a full-time position for 37 hours per week, open to flexible, compressed, and part-time working patterns with a minimum coverage of 30 hours Monday to Friday. You will be part of an on-call rota, typically for a week every six weeks, for which you will receive an allowance.

About the Role: Do you want to work on an estate with advanced technical facilities where you can make a difference supporting security? You’ll use your knowledge of building services to maintain and improve an expanding estate with diverse facilities, services, and utilities across multiple buildings. The campus includes manufacturing workshops, engineering laboratories, screened rooms, clean rooms, server rooms, and offices. The buildings vary from newly constructed to around 50 years old, with different infrastructures.

You will work in a dynamic environment, interacting with various users and suppliers, managing projects from new facility delivery to statutory compliance work. Responsibilities include project managing system replacements, reactive repairs, diagnosing and fixing building system issues, and supporting a small team with professional development opportunities, including externally recognized CIBSE courses and in-house training.

About You: To apply, you should have:

  • A professional qualification in building services or relevant experience
  • Solid understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, and plumbing
  • Knowledge of building regulations, safety standards, and sustainable technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred but not essential:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with ISO standards (ISO 50001, ISO 14001)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD

Personal Skills: You should enjoy managing diverse projects, establishing strong relationships, promoting responsive services, demonstrating analytical skills, paying attention to detail, working well in a team, communicating effectively, translating non-technical needs into technical specs, and adapting to change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure site safety and legal compliance
  • Lead specific projects, manage equipment replacements, and collaborate with the supply chain
  • Respond to system failures and interrogate Building Management Systems
  • Address user repair and maintenance requests

What We Offer:

  • A positive, inclusive work environment
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing to 30 after 5 years
  • 8 Bank Holidays and additional leave days
  • Alpha Pension scheme
  • Development opportunities, paid overtime, flexible hours, parental leave, and more
  • Supportive networks, training, multi-faith prayer room, secure parking, onsite gym, bike scheme, charity leave, social activities, onsite café, nursery (subject to availability), and relocation loan
