First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a BSE Cost Manager on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform quantity take-offs for lighting, containment, pipework, ductwork, etc., with minimal supervision.
  • Review and cost variations, with guidance as needed.
  • Source and obtain pricing for plant items, liaising with suppliers and ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Assist in reviewing valuation submissions from contractors, including conducting site visits.
  • Maintain accurate cost logs, ensuring all relevant updates from emails and meetings are recorded promptly.
  • Support cost reporting and financial analysis.
  • Contribute to cost planning across all RIBA stages.

Skills and qualifications:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • MEP QS experience is required and must be clearly stated in your application and will be discussed/evidenced at interview
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels
  • A proactive and collaborative work ethic, supporting teams across the business to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Bluebeam, and CostX
