Building Safety Surveyor - Position Overview

Our client, a leading Property Solutions group with multiple offices across the UK, is seeking a Building Surveyor to join on a remote basis, covering a portfolio in London & South East.

The Building Surveyor will be responsible for the efficient management of Building and Fire Safety projects across the group's residential portfolio.

The ideal candidate will be a residential building surveyor with experience in fire safety within the residential environment and a passion for diligent service delivery. The role involves extensive interaction with in-house and outsourced professional teams to drive a long-term asset compliance program.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Overseeing fire safety and building remediation projects within London & South East.
  2. Providing professional and technical advice to the Asset Management Team and the Client.
  3. Developing remediation proposals, advising on H&S, fire safety, building regulations, and resident impacts.
  4. Liaising with the client’s legal team regarding remediation options such as Building Guarantees and collateral warranties.
  5. Coordinating with managing agents to commission External Cladding Surveys.
  6. Implementing mitigation measures based on survey reports.
  7. Interpreting fire survey reports and recommending next steps.
  8. Monitoring and reporting on mitigation measures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Surveying or a similar discipline in the built environment.
  • Deep understanding of H&S regulations applicable to surveying and project delivery.
  • Knowledge of fire regulations in residential environments, including External Cladding.
  • Familiarity with building regulations, planning applications, and property legislation.
  • Full Membership of RICS.
  • Qualification in Fire Safety and Risk Management (e.g., NEBOSH, Fire Protection Association) is desirable.

Additional Details

  • Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Bonus up to 10% of annual salary based on performance.
  • 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
