Job Description

  • Lead the development and implementation of a Resident Engagement Strategy, communicating with residents about building safety, responsibilities, and issues.
  • Engage with the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Manage the daily safety of all buildings within your portfolio under the Building Safety Bill 2021.
  • Coordinate and manage all matters related to structural and fire safety to meet legislative requirements.
  • Support the coordination of compliance programs, including fire equipment, portable appliance testing, alarms, legionella, and other compliance works.
  • Implement and coordinate fire safety, evacuation, and security arrangements to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Monitor and challenge colleagues on Fire Risk Assessments, ensuring they are up-to-date and actions are completed promptly.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain Building Safety Cases and proactively manage risks.
  • Work with Development and Asset Management to maintain a digital 'Golden Thread' of building information supporting safety cases.
  • Maintain good relationships with the Building Safety Regulator and Fire Authority.
  • Attend meetings with contractors and consultants to ensure ongoing building safety.
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety legislation and Building Regulations.
  • Contribute to policies, procedures, and systems for building operations.
  • Liaise with stakeholders on maintenance and asset management, supervising contractors through Permit to Work schemes.
  • Support colleagues in project management and inspections for compliance.
  • Stay updated on legislation and industry best practices.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction and manage complaints.

The Successful Applicant

  • Relevant Fire Safety qualification accredited by IFE or IFSM (or working towards it).
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management (or working towards).
  • Chartered Membership of CIH or CIOB, or a degree in construction or housing management (or equivalent).
  • Experience in a similar role for a residential provider.
  • Thorough understanding of Building Safety legislation and the safety act.
  • Experience managing external contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
