Job description

We’re currently working with a London Based Housing Association looking for a permanent Building Safety Manager to join their growing team.

The role is based in North London and is 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday 9-5). A car is desirable but not essential. The salary for this role is £72,222 per annum.

Due to the nature of the role, the ideal candidate will have a fire qualification such as NEBOSH or Fire Management.

Duties will include (but not limited to):
  1. Oversee the development of building safety cases for all identified high risk buildings within the scope of the Building Safety Act.
  2. Ensure that all identified high risk buildings are managed and maintained in accordance with the requirements of the Building Safety Act.
  3. Work closely with colleagues in Repairs, Building Services, Estates, Communications, Resident Services and Asset Management to develop plans for the delivery of fire safety work and services in high-risk buildings, or interim measures as required.
  4. Develop and maintain sufficient policies and procedures in liaison with other relevant managers to ensure compliance of statutory and regulatory duties and Health and Safety best practice in maintaining and managing tall buildings.
  5. Take the leading role in ensuring the delivery of resident engagement strategies for higher risk buildings.
  6. Manage the Building Safety budget and work with colleagues in Finance and the Service Charge Team to ensure the proper charging and recovery of costs related to Building Safety.
Experience required:
  • Experience required in Social Housing.
  • Experience working with customers within housing.
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
  • Risk assessment and management.
  • Financial management and budgeting.
  • Compliance and due diligence.
  • Fire qualification such as NEBOSH or Fire Management.
