A local council is seeking a Property Compliance and Building Safety/Risk Manager to oversee the compliance of its portfolio. You will be responsible for ensuring all statutory requirements are met and manage various aspects of the building's safety. This role requires hands-on auditing and effective management of suppliers and contractors, making it essential for the successful operation of council buildings.

• Conduct on-site audits of compliance and mechanical/electrical systems.
• Ensure effective management of premises controllers on FM sites.
• Support Hard FM function and engage new suppliers.
• Manage new properties from handover to go-live.

Overview

As the Property Compliance and building safety/risk Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Council's corporate property portfolio by delivering a comprehensive Technical Services function. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all statutory compliance requirements are met across the estate, and buildings free from risk while also driving an efficient compliance framework for best practice operations of the Council's buildings.

Responsibilities

• Be hands‑on and proactive, with a versatile, practical approach.
• Spend significant time on‑site auditing compliance and surveying mechanical and electrical systems, building fabric, and associated documentation.
• Ensure premises controllers are managing their sites effectively while maintaining order on FM managed sites.
• Support the Hard FM function, as well as the procurement and engagement of new suppliers and partners.
• Experience in bringing new properties under operation from handover and acceptance to supply chain engagement and go‑live mobilisation.
