Building Safety Manager

Job Opportunity: Building Safety Manager (Contract)

Location: Bristol

We are currently seeking a Building Safety Manager on a contract basis. The role involves ensuring the safety of buildings, primarily for occupants of multi-occupied High-Rise Residential Buildings and other designated building types, including Low-Rise Residential Buildings.

The successful candidate must be a registered named Building Safety Manager. Responsibilities include developing and managing information related to the design, construction, and maintenance of high-rise residential buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate and manage all matters related to structural and fire safety in in-scope buildings to meet legislative requirements.
2. Oversee the safe management of Birmingham City Council's (BCC) high-rise and higher-risk residential buildings within Housing and Landlord Services.
3. Implement controls for structural and fire safety on a daily basis.
4. Manage safety within the designated housing stock effectively.
5. Ensure controls are in place for building work carried out within the managed housing stock.
6. Engage with residents to record, monitor, and address safety concerns appropriately.
7. Ensure planned, preventive maintenance is conducted within BCC housing stock.
8. Collaborate with internal housing staff to ensure roles are performed in accordance with the Corporate Fire Safety Policy.
