Job summary

Irwin and Colton is seeking a Building Safety and CDM Advisor for a London-based, hybrid role with travel. You will oversee CDM projects as Principal Designer, ensuring compliance with Building Safety Act 2022 and CDM Regulations 2015 across high-risk assets.

You will assess fire and building safety through technical due diligence, surveys, and risk assessments, delivering Building Safety Case Reports and Golden Thread management while building strong client relationships and guiding design

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fire safety and building safety regulation in commercial or residential properties.
• Recognised health and safety qualifications; fire safety qualifications advantageous.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive, client-focused with solid project management in building safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage the CDM project process as Principal Designer from start to finish.
• Provide strategic design/construction advice aligning with client goals and regulations.
• Assess assets via technical due diligence, fire and asbestos surveys, and risk assessments.
• Deliver Building Safety Case Reports, Golden Thread Management, and Mandatory Occurrence Reporting.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance and support safety improvements.

The key responsibilities of the Building Safety and CDM Advisor

• Manage the CDM project process as Principal Designer from start to finish.

• Assess assets and portfolios through technical due diligence, fire safety surveys, asbestos surveys, and risk assessments.
• Deliver Building Safety Case Reports, Golden Thread Management, and Mandatory Occurrence Reporting.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance and support continuous safety improvements.

The successful Building Safety and CDM Advisor will have:
