Job summary

Morgan Hunt is recruiting a Building Performance Engineer to join its Glasgow-based team. You will carry out dynamic thermal modelling, build energy and performance assessments, and support net zero design objectives across diverse projects in the UK.

The role requires a degree in Building Services Engineering or related field, experience in consultancy, and proficiency with IES VE or DesignBuilder. A collaborative, detail‑led approach and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in building performance modelling within a consultancy environment.
  • Proficient with software such as IES VE, DesignBuilder, or equivalent modelling tools.
  • Good understanding of UK Building Regulations, Part L, TM52, TM54, TM59, and energy compliance methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Keep up to date with UK building regulations, energy standards, and best practice guidance.

Job description

An established and growing engineering consultancy is looking to expand it's energy and sustainability offering and recruit a Building Performance Engineer to join its Glasgow team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, helping to deliver sustainable, energy-efficient buildings from concept through to completion. The successful candidate will play a key role in building performance analysis, supporting design teams with energy modelling, thermal comfort assessments, and sustainability strategies to help meet regulatory requirements and achieve low-carbon design objectives.

Key Responsibilities
